Discover® Student Card Review

This Discover® Student Card issued by Discover is designed for college students that either have limited credit, or good credit that has already been established. This is a great card to consider, when you’re looking to get the most out of your money.

Unlike many student cards, this one in particular offers many various rewards. Every dollar that you spend, you’re going to be able to get a certain percentage back. As part of the Cashback Bonus program by Discover®, you can earn rewards with categories such as gas, travel, restaurants and many more.

For most general purchases, you’re going to earn at least 1% cash back. While if you reach a certain threshold for the year, you can even earn bonuses. There are no limits on how much you can earn, and as long as you keep your account active, your rewards won’t disappear.

Besides the rewards, this card also features other options such as online account management, no liability on unauthorized transaction, as well as discounts with merchants, when you shop with your card online.

As for the APR, it is right in the middle, and there are some introductory rates. Be sure to look at your application to see what kind of introductory interest rates that you can take advantage of. The card also features no annual fees as well.

Looking at the pros:

• You can earn bonuses on top of the rewards that you’re already going to get, and you will find that the more that you spend, the more that you’re going to get back, in terms of cash back.
• There isn’t an annual fee, so you don’t have to worry about surprise fees on your credit card statement.

Look at the cons:

• While the card is designed for those with good credit, if you have no credit, your chances of being approved for this card are relatively slim.
• You may also find that your APR can be higher, depending on your credit history and score.
