When we’re in college, we often have a lot of distractions.  We have our jobs that we’re working, a lot of parties that our friends are having, a ton of homework from our classes, and just so many things going on.  With so many distractions, it is easy to miss college lectures.  We are behind on sleep, aren’t finished with our homework, and have many things that make skipping a college lecture tempting.

Although a lot of college students skip their lectures, they don’t realize how much it can hurt them.  Going to each lecture has several benefits.  What are the benefits?  Continue reading below to find out.

Attendance – First of all, you need to be there a certain amount of times to have good attendance.  If you miss too many, you will fail the class and you will need to retake it.  So, don’t let yourself skip too many times to where it can hurt you.

Important information – When you skip, you will most likely be missing out on important information.  Your professor could tell you when things are due, when your next test is, they might review important information, and go over your chapter review.

Homework is due – You might also have homework due that needs to be handed in.  If you miss going to class, you will most likely miss the opportunity to hand in the homework you’ve been working hard on (unless you can e-mail.)

A test – A lot of professors give surprise quizzes or tests.  It is their way of giving you bonus points towards your grade because of good attendance.  Or they might do this to see how much you know for the chapter.  Either way, missing out on these points can hurt your grade.

Behind – If you don’t go to class you’re going to get behind it’s that simple.  You will miss the lecture, be behind on what’s going on, and most likely be confused as to what the next lecture is going to be about.

Missing college lectures is something you don’t want to get caught up in.  You paid good money to take the classes so why waste your money and skip them?  Not to mention, if you miss too many times, you will have to repay and retake the class!  Start getting that motivation to just go and finish the class easier.
