When we graduate high school, we often have plans to go to college the upcoming fall.  Although, when the economy is rough like it is today, people may hold off on their education and try to save up some money beforehand.  What students don’t realize is how affordable a community college may be.  Universities are definitely expensive, but community college are known to be affordable.  If you consider a community college, you’re saving yourself tons of money in the long run.  What is so great about them and how do they save you money?

Same education – If you’re just looking to get all of your general education classes out of the way beforehand, be sure to consider a community college over a university.  You’ll get the same education, same amount of credits, and most community colleges are accredited.

Pay less – When you go to a community college you’ll pay much less than you would if you went to a university.  Usually an average community college bill is about $1,500 for 3 classes.  Although some universities charge over $1,000 per class!

First two years – Although a community college may not be a four year thing, but instead a two year thing, you can easily save thousands of dollars for the same education.  Also when you stay home the first two years, college students usually work more, have a job and save a lot more money than if you went away to college.

Overall, community colleges are really great!  As you can see, there are great perks to them, its this simple, why pay more than you have to?  Instead, stay at home for a while and be rent free, save up more money by working at a part-time job, hang out with your buddies from high school, and pay less for the same education!  Now you see why community colleges are a great choice?
