I would have to say that a backpack is probably one of the most important things that you’re going to carry around whether you’re attending school or college. People generally think that a backpack is a backpack but there are so many features to some backpacks, it’s incredible. Before you go out and buy that backpack, make sure that you’re aware of a few things before you hit the “submit order” button.
How much are you going to carry around?
Are you going to carry around 10 classes worth of books at all times or are you going to carry around one or two books? Depending on how much you carry around, this is going to factor in on what kind of book bag you should get. The more you carry, the bigger the bag you want.
Is this going to be a long term backpack?
When I say this, I’m asking if it’s going to be a backpack that you’re only going to have around for four years or do you want this backpack for ten years? The longer you want the backpack, the more you’ll want to spend. If you spend a few bucks, you’re going to get what you pay for.. cheap quality.
Look at the options
When you think of a backpack, you generally don’t think of options but most backpacks have some cool little gadgets. Things like cellphone holders, side pockets, mp3 holders and so much more. It never hurts to look for a backpack that can lock also. Theft is a major issue at some colleges and you don’t want to find some student taking your college books, calculator, etc out of your backpack.
Always look at the straps
I think the most important part of the backpack are the straps of the bag. Just think of it for a second. When you put on a backpack, the straps are what are going to be padded against your shoulders. If you have lousy straps, you’re going to feel back or should pain. I would highly advise that you look into get gel padded straps or straps that seem comfortable. Never under-estimate the straps.
You’ll be sorry with the cheap ones
When you’re doing your shopping online, you’re probably going to find some backpacks that look nice that cost about $15. But guess what? You’re going to get what you pay for. Always make sure that you spend a few extra bucks when it comes to your backpack. You’re going to want to something that not only lasts but will be comfortable for yourself.
I know, backpacks shouldn’t take a long time to purchase but if you takea few minutes to compare at least 5 or 10, you’ll find one that you’ll most likely like. Do your research and you’ll find something that fits your needs.
