A lot of work – Be prepared, it will be a lot of work.  High school allows you to slack a lot more than college.  In college you NEED to be there to get good grades, you need to study hard and you need to set your priorities in line.

A positive attitude -  When we have challenges it is important that we have a positive attitude.  These difficult tasks make it easy to give up but we need to do everything NOT to give up.  We all want that dream job and to get there we must work for what we want and most importantly have a positive attitude.

Money -  Be prepared to dish out a lot of money for college.  College isn’t cheap and neither are the books.  Yes, unlike high school you will have to pay for your books.  It is a good idea to get a part-time job and to apply for as many college scholarships as possible.

Less leisure- I’m sorry to say it, but once you’re in college a lot of those people you were friends with in high school will very busy, and so will you.  College can be pretty tough, which means a lot of school work and less play.

Overwhelmed – Everyone at some point feels overwhelmed.  We have those big exams to take, big papers to write and just a lot of things to do that never seem to go away.  When you feel overwhelmed don’t give up!  Instead, take your frustration and stress out on activities such as your favorite sports or running.

A great reward -  The way college is explained above it doesn’t sound too fun does it?  Although college is a lot of work, you will meet many friends along the way and find yourself happier than ever the day you graduate, and you can finally say “All my work has paid off!”  Once you’re done, you’re done.  You’re on to making good money and won’t have to worry about those little minimum wage jobs again!

There are a lot of expectations that need to be met when in college.  College is a huge part in someones life and you must have a good attitude to get all the way through.  It is just like high school, once you’re done you move on to bigger and better things!
