We all know going to college can be extremely expensive. Students often have a hard time paying for their tuition, books, and other expenses during their college years. With such a low budget students are willing to do anything to get what they need. Learn how you can avoid theft in college. Check out some of the things you should consider when you go to school:
Always lock your vehicle: Never leave your windows down or leave your car unlocked. A college campus is often pretty big and it is easy for people to just sneak in your car. You never want to draw attention to your car with your windows down. Play it safe, and lock up your belongings.
Watch your valuable items: Never let your valuable items be seen in your car. Students often just set their stuff down in their car and make a quick trip into class. No matter how long you’re gone, hide your belongings! Students will see your expensive items and find a way to get them from you. It’s common that students will leave their ipods, expensive books, laptops, and other gadgets just on the passenger seat, avoid doing this!
Always hold onto your backpack: It may sound silly but often students will grab your books and take them if they are unattended. Why would they do this? Remember how much you paid for that book? They will sell it online and collect the money that you spent on it. Always keep an eye on your books. Also if you have a laptop make sure it never leaves your site. Laptops can be expensive and students don’t want to pay those expensive bills so they will just steal them. Be sure to keep an eye on your stuff!
Watch your quick trips: If you want to run to the vending machine, bathroom or drinking fountain when in class, be sure not to leave your keys, cell phone and other important items on your desk. Students may take them and decide to ditch class for the remainder of the hour.
There are many things you can do to avoid theft at college. Consider some of these points above and avoid getting your personal and important belongings stolen. College is expensive we all know that, so avoid paying for your items twice by being just a little bit more careful!
