Top paying student jobsWith the summertime coming up, it may be time to find that temporary gig so that you can save up some money to pay off those student loans.  Even though unemployment numbers are getting high, there are still a lot of jobs on the market that cater to everyone, especially college students.

If you want some ideas on what jobs pay the most, I’ll give you some ideas on where you can start to look.

Try SnagaJob - SnagaJob is by far the best resource on the Internet that allows you to search hourly employment only.  Look for jobs on here that are temporary only.  If they don’t list temporary listings on their page, call them up to see if they do because you’ll never know.

Try online surveys - I know it sounds kind of silly but some online survey sites actually do pay some decent money.  Now when I say decent, it’s decent for a college student and don’t expect no more than $200-$300 a month but hey, if you can’t find anything else, it’s a start.  Refer to my paid online survey study that I did a while back.

Try online contracting work - Do you have any sort of online skill?  Can you program?  Can you design things?  If you can, you may want to bid on online projects like designing logos, websites and more.  Try websites like Elance.com and GetaFreelancer.com that specialize in these sort of things.

Check for summer programs - Some places like the YMCA and other summer programs offer openings for the summer only.  This is a great opportunity for those that are looking for a temporary gig.  Here, you can mentor kids, tutor, lifeguard or whatever else they have opened.  Check out your local paper or city website to get more information on these programs.

When it comes to the summer and jobs, it really comes down to research or who you know.  The best thing that you can possibly do is just do research online or ask around.  Once you find a job, work it for the summer and hopefully that job will have your name on it for the following summer as well.  There are a lot of jobs out there no matter how the market looks.  It’s your duty to go out there and find one!
