Crafts for your dorm roomIt’s that time again to move into your new dorm room, and whether it’s your first year, or your fourth, I wanted to give you some great little tips that you can use in order to make your dorm room seem a little nicer on a low budget.  If you’re good with crafts, and you have a little free time, try some of these tips to spruce up your life!

Make your own pictures - If you love painting, and you have a little free time, go to your local craft store, or purchase a canvas online.  Make a couple little pictures, and hang them up around your dorm.  The great thing about this is that you’re able to make your own colors, and your own design.  If you’re good enough, people will think that you spent top dollar!

Scrapbook your walls - If you have a lot of pictures with friends, and other parts or you life, grab a few of them, and make collages on your wall.  This is a great way to show off some of your adventures, as well as good times with your friends.

Craft a blanket - I’m not saying that you have to make a whole bed set, but in your free time, you can create a smaller blanket.  Whenever it gets cold, you can use this to curl up, and watch TV, read a book, or study.

Custom vases - Most of your local craft stores have flowers, and vases.  A great little set up like this can be made for as little as $10.  This is a great way to be creative, and create vases.

Window curtains – Even if you don’t know how to make curtains, it really isn’t that hard.  You’ll want to take an older bed sheet, and make your own design.  Hang it from a rod, and you just save a hundred or so dollars!

The ideas are endless when it comes to decorating your dorm room.  Be creative, and if you have any other ideas, feel free to leave them in the comment box below!
