Hottest careers in 2009Every year, you look into the job outlook, it seems as if every year, things change, especially as a job seeker.  Whether you’re looking to get a degree, or you’re curious on what’s hot today, it may not be hot tomorrow.  As technology changes, if you don’t keep up, you may not be able to get that job you think you deserve.

After looking at a few jobs analysts, and their expectation on what’s going to be hot for 2009 and 2010, here’s what some of them came up with…

Computer Systems Analysts - Computer systems analysts solve computer problems, and use technology today in order to meet the needs of an organization.  You’ll design and develop new systems by choosing, and configure software, as well as hardware.

Registered Nurse – As life goes on, there’s always going to be a demand for health care.  This is one field that will never be outsourced.  As a registered nurse, your job duties will greatly vary.  From working in a hospital, to a care home situation, you’ll mainly overlook patients to maintain their health, and ensure that they get healthier.

Teachers - Just like a nurse, our population is going to continue to grow, and as it grows, you’ll find that we will need teachers to teach our young children.  From kindergarten to college, teachers play a huge role in many people’s lives.  You’ll be in charge of educating others on whatever class you may teach.

Physicians / Surgeons - When you look at this list, you may notice a few things.  You’ll notice that a lot has to do with outsourcing.  If your job can’t be outsourced, it’s going to continue to grow.  Yes, it takes a long time to become a physician, but it does pay off in the long run.  Physicians either run their own practice, or work for hospitals overseeing the health of their patients.

Pharmacists - When a CVS and Walgreens on every other corner, the need for pharmacists is growing greater every day.  As I mentioned above already, as the population grows, the demand for these jobs rise. A pharmacist is in charge of filling medications, and helping patients with their medication needs, and questions.

Physical Therapist - Another great health care job you may want to look into is a physical therapist.  As a therapist, you’ll be in charge of helping patients overcome injuries.  You’ll give them designated exercises, and help oversee them get better again.

You may have noticed by now that these jobs are all in the health care field, besides teaching, and a computer analyst.  If you want a hot job, I would highly consider that you find one that’s going to be around for a long time, and one that is very hard to outsource.  If you start off on that foot, you should be in for a great career.
