- “I hate the college parking situations”. There is no place to park, and if there is it’s far away from my classes. Oh, and did I mention parking rates are outrageous?
- “College textbooks are something you spend hundreds of dollars on each semester, and the professor rarely refer to them!” The prices are way too high, and it’s a huge cost from my paycheck.
- “Having to take electives is ridiculous” We’ve already spent over 12 years learning about things that don’t relate to our future career, why do we have to spend more time and money on this useful information?
- “7 a.m. classes” We leave high school being so happy that we don’t have to wake up early every morning. Oh wait, we still do!
- “College is too expensive” College is way too expensive. Everyone wants the United States to be educated, but spending thousands per semester makes that kinda hard.
- “The school is way too big”. When a school is that big, it is hard to be one on one with the professor, and get the help you really need.
- “The atmosphere at a university is not all that comfortable.” High school and community colleges are so much more relaxed, and comfortable.
- “When professors create their own textbook, and make it a requirement.” Yeah, they may know their stuff, but come on, just let us get a book that’s similar, it makes it so much easier.
- “The professors expect us to come to class on time, yet they don’t.” They are the professional ones, yet that can’t even come on time?
- “Professors expect so much, and they give little back.” So it’s easy for a professor to demand all this work to be done, yet when it comes time to hand it back it takes weeks? Why do we have to work so fast, yet they get all the time in the world?
College is rough, and there are definitely a lot of complaints from college students. Although, what can you do? Finish it now, and you’ll be glad later.

I agree these are all annoying things about attending college. However I offer a remedy for your second complaint, high textbook prices. I use bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers and rental sites to find the cheapest prices. You can specify whether you want to search for used, new or both, and you can also choose to include or exclude international editions from your search results. It’s pretty cool actually.
