Tips for Getting Into an Ivy League College

A lot of us have the dream of getting accepted into a certain college. Whether we want to get into law school, want to be a nurse, teacher, etc we usually have a certain college in mind. One of those popular kinds of colleges is an Ivy League College. Do you have the dream of getting accepted into one? If so, you probably already know how slim the chances are of getting accepted. Although, who says you won’t! Improve your chances with a few of these tips!
GPA -First of all, you’re really going to want to get a good GPA throughout your schooling. A 4.o isn’t necessarily required, but something close to that. To improve your chances of getting accepted, try to shoot for something like a 3.75+.
Stand out -You also want to make sure you stand out from others. A lot of people are going to be applying, but if you stick out more you’ll have a better chance. One way you can do that is by being caption of a sports team, in student council, volunteer, or something that says a lot about you!
SAT - It is important to get a good SAT score to get into most colleges, but to get into and Ivy League College, you want to get a really good score. These schools usually look for something around the 1950 mark. Don’t get discouraged if your first test doesn’t go as well as planned, you can always re-take it!
Essay – The college essay is another important thing to look out for. Essays say a lot about students, and really allow the staff to see what your personality is like. So, make sure you take your time on this, proofread until you can’t anymore (even if you think it’s perfect), and have other people read it, while asking for tips!
Getting into an Ivy League college is something to be very excited for. Not many students have this chance! So, if you’re really looking to make your dream come true, make sure you really focus on these tips above!
