College is a fun time; it’s full of many changes and new experiences. When beginning college you experience a lot of firsts, typically it’s the first time you live on your own, so it’s the first time you choose if you want to go to class or not, what and when to eat, when to go to sleep and much more. There are a lot of good and fun times that come with beginning college.

The First Days

The first few days of college can be very nerve wrecking. You have to move into your dorm or apartment and settle in over the course of a day or two. You also have to worry about the transition from high school to college; classes are a lot faster paced and many times have a lot more people in them. Grading is different, there’s a whole new lingo to learn such as calling your teachers professors, and the work load is a bit more than high school as well.

Living On Your Own

A lot of people choose to move away when they go to college. For the people that move away they’ll most likely have little or no home town friends with them. This adjustment can be one of the biggest.  When starting school you have to make friends quickly, you need to start all over again with finding good friends and fun things to do with your extra time.

Party Time

Weekends are a big deal for college kids. Parties are easy to find, but make sure you go to the right ones and play it smart. There are always things to do and friends are where your fun comes from. Make as many friends as you can and make the most out of your time there. It’s a lot of fun but it goes by very quickly. This is your first transition into the real world.
