The Citi Forward(SM) Card for College Students
posted by FindCollegeCards.comNOTE: This information is accurate as of April 26, 2009.
Citi Bank offers some of the best student credit cards on the market today. If you’re already a fan of their cards such as the MTVu card, Platinum Select cards and more, you’re going to be a fan of their new Citi Forward(SM) credit card.
The thing that I like most about the Citi Forward(SM) card is that they reward you for good behavior. It’s a great strategy for those that feel they aren’t going to be able to manage their finances when it comes to credit cards for the first time. Here, you’re going to be rewarded when your bill is paid off on time, you never miss a payment, etc.
Now, you’re probably wondering what this card has to offer when it comes down to points and all of that. Well, it has a lot to offer and I’ll think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when it comes down to the rewards.
Here’s what the reward structure looks like –
For every dollar you spend on books, movies, music and at restaurants, you’re going to get 5 reward points.
For every dollar you spend outside of those categories, you’re going to get 1 point per dollar.
You’ll be able to use these reward points on Citi Bank’s famous ThankYou Network. Here, you’ll be able to exchange your points for things such as electronic equipment, balance credits, gift cards to 100s of shops and restaurants and so much more. Trust me, when it comes to the reward system, you’ll be amazed what they have to offer.
If that’s not enough, if you act fast enough, you can get bonus points as well. Open up your account today, sign up for paperless statement and you’ll get 5,000 bonus points. On top of that, make $50 in purchases within three months and you’ll get another 6,000 points. If that’s not enough, pay on time and stay under your credit line and you’ll get 100 extra points each month.
This credit card designed for students is by far one of my favorites. Check out this one when you do your homework on others. If you’re interested in applying, be sure to check out their application page.
