The Benefits of a College Degree

Ever since they were little they’ve wanted to become a teacher, a mechanic, a lawyer, a business man and so on. Getting a college degree is a wonderful thing that can benefit you tremendously in the future. People have these dreams yet don’t pursue them for many reasons. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is not getting a college degree. With today’s economy and how things are going right now most people are barely getting by it they don’t have a degree. We always hear “a college degree is important”, but why? What are the benefits of a college degree? Continue reading below to find out!
A job you love – You have the opportunity to work a job that you love. This is the one job you’ve been wanting to do that you’ve picked out from thousands of jobs. You are capable of actually liking to go to work instead of dreading work.
Better pay - Most jobs today will start you out at minimum wage which averages from state to state. Minimum wage is extremely hard to live off of especially if you have a family. Stop worrying about not having enough money, what you’re going to do in the future and actually have a plan for retirement. A lot of college careers start you out with excellent money.
Benefits – Benefits are extremely important to have these days. You want to make sure you have good insurances especially health. You won’t have to worry about going to the doctors because it costs to much money and so on. A job with benefits is something to go to school for by itself. Also, a pension is something that people often see with a college degree. How would you like to sit at home when you’re retired and still collect money?
A brighter future – You can have a brighter future due to a college career. This is definitely something to think about. You could have collected more money for your retirement, have good benefits a pension, the lack of stress due to a job you may of hated and so on. A job you love is much more healthy than a job you hated.
No more worries – You won’t have to worry about a mom and pop shutting down due to a bad economy if you work there. Instead, if your job does fail you have the comfort of knowing that you can work somewhere else and find a job. Lets say you’re a nurse, nurses will never go away, we will always need them and you can find a job pretty much anywhere!
There are so many benefits of getting a college degree. What is four more years of going to school to see all these positive aspects in your future? If you have the opportunity, a college degree is highly recommended. Start enjoying work for the first time!
