Most college students think that you have to be majoring in a certain language or be taking a foreign language classes in college to have the opportunity, which is not entirely true. If you’re really interested in getting started with a studying abroad program there are many great opportunities for you! What might you get involved in?
Academic/Semester Studying Abroad- This is one of the most popular programs college students get involved in. You simply go for a semester or longer to study over in your foreign country. These programs are usually offered in the spring and fall semesters of the year.
Summer Programs – Don’t want to study abroad during the time school is in session? Not a problem! There are summer programs that you can sign up for which allows you to study abroad as well.
Intern Programs – Want to get an internship study abroad program going? If so, you definitely have the opportunity. You have the opportunity to work and study over seas in another country.
Volunteer Programs – Would you like the chance to help others out in other countries? Studying abroad gives you a good chance to explore the world in other countries and help out many people as well. You can make a difference in a person’s life by volunteering for study abroad.
Language Programs – Do you have the passion for learning a foreign language? If so, there is no better way to learn a language then by throwing yourself into that country. You have the chance to make many friends, learn the language first hand instead of by a textbook. This is the fastest way to learn a language, by studying abroad.
Teach Abroad Programs - Often people go and study abroad to learn and be taught, but you also have the opportunity to teach in other countries. I would like to study abroad for the summer of 2010. I have a 4.0 and cannot attend unless there are full scholarships. Are there any full scholarships available?
