How College Students Stay Healthy
posted by FindCollegeCards.com
Many students who enter college find that they are no longer covered by their parent’s health care plan and farther it is too expensive for them to buy a policy of their own. That is why they work at staying healthy. Many young people are very healthy and feel that they really do not need health care insurance. This is an expense that they just try to avoid for the time being. This is really not a good idea because at any time you are liable to be in an accident or catch something where you need medical care. Medical problems can really become very expensive especially if it is a serious illness or accident. Our first advice is that everyone needs a good quality health care insurance. For those who are not covered and do not plan on buying health care for a while we do offer some advice that is very helpful.
Eat Healthy and Wisely
You should try to eat healthy and wisely when you have your meals. It is too easy to skip a meal or try to fudge it by eating a bag of potato chips or a chocolate bar. This is not a wise decision your body needs a healthy mix of fruits and vegetables along with whole grains and dairy products. You should try to avoid fried foods, chocolates, sweets, and sugary soft drinks. You need to focus in on a well balanced diet most students usually have a diner card to eat in the school cafeteria. You can find plenty of fruits that you can take some with you for that afternoon snack instead of stopping by the snack machine looking for a sugar fix. Select to eat healthy and wisely for better health!
Exercise Everyday
You should try to work out every day for at least sixty minutes if possible. You may not have access to a workout room but you can exercise in your dorm, by running, or even walking is healthy. A good long walk can help to clear your mind and help your body. When you exercise your body will burn calories and you need to burn more calories than you eat? Many students believe because they are always on the go that is all that they need to do but this will not help you lose weight or maintain a healthy body. You need to take care and exercise whenever possible.
