Student TravelAs a student, did you know you can get discounts on travel?  If not, it’s great to be a student because you get as many discounts as a senior citizen and that’s no lie!  If you’re looking to travel soon, you may want to know where to look before you book your trip because I can give you tips that save you close to 50%.

Start with STA Travel-  Sta Travel is one of the best resources online when you’re looking to book a trip as a plane ticket.  Here, you’ll use this site like you would any other site.  You’ll input where you want to go and when you want to go.  From there, you’ll get a list of tickets and their prices that reflect student pricing.  Here, you can book hotels, flights and more.  I would recommend you check this site out first before you check out the bigger sites like Expedia, Travelocity, etc.

Sign up for TravelZoo- I love to travel and TravelZoo is amazing when it comes to deals.  Make sure you sign up for their newsletter because they will send you the top 20 deals each and every week.  This site isn’t really geared towards students but you can find some amazing deals.  For example, in the Winter, I was able to book an amazing resort hotel room for $42 in Panama City Beach, Florida.  These are just some of the examples.  It’s free to look at the deals right now, so go do it to save some money!

Haggle with PriceLine - I’m sure most of your know about PriceLine.com but did you know you can name your own prices on hotels?  When you’re looking for a hotel, do a search on Priceline and from there, you’ll be able to ask for a lower price.  If the hotel accepts it, you get that deal.  If they don’t, you will be able to bid another time in 24 hours.  Make sure you don’t go too cheap when you’re looking for a steal.

Even if you’re not a student anymore, these tips will still work.  Never pay full price again when you use these resources.  Also, keep in mind that you can always get a great deal as well if you book with the hotel or airline directly.  If you find a great deal on another website, mark down that airline and go to the airline’s website to see if it’s cheaper there.
