Best dorm desk for studentsWhether you’re in  your dorm room right now or you’re planning on attending college in the fall, it’s always nice to equip your dorm room with a few pieces of furniture.  Make sure that you visit your dorm before you buy furniture though because you may find that many of the rooms already have desks built into the wall.  If they don’t, I found a few desks that you should look at when considering a small compact yet functional desk for college.

No Tools Assembly Desk:  The no tools assembly desk is great for those looking for a small desk that does the job.  The nice thing about this desk is that you won’t have to pay a lot and you won’t need any tools.  The only downfall with desks that don’t require any tools is the durability.  Some people have complained that many desks that require no tools are wobbly and fall apart easily but these do vary desk to desk manufacturer.

Prepac Computer Desk in Maple Laminate:  This desk is nice if you’re looking for a lot of storage, yet taking up little space.  This particular desk has a very nice finish along with many little compartments where you can store books, paper and any other little items that you may want to put away.  On top of the desk, you’ll also receive a hutch that goes into the wall itself.

Mission Computer Desk:   The Mission Computer desk is another desk that is compact and takes up little space.  This desk is very solid but doesn’t have as many compartments compared to the Prepac version.  If you’re interested in this brand, they also create TV stands as well as DVD stands, bookshelves and more.

HandStands Large Computer Desk:  This desk is probably one of the smallest desks out of them all but don’t let that scare you away.  This desk comes with a nice keyboard drawer as well as a nice spot to hold the computer by your feet.  This particular brand runs about $120.

When it comes to college, you’re going to find out that a lot of your fellow classmates are going to have computers.  Make sure that you consider a desk if your dorm doesn’t have one.  All of the desks mentioned above are going to range anywhere from $30 to as much as $200.  The more you pay, the more you’ll probably get out of the desk, depending on how you treat it!
