Student Discount Prices on Items
posted by FindCollegeCards.comEvery college student is going to need to purchase something during their college career, and there are no ways around that. Did you know that you can get discounts on particular items in either the college store, or online just because you’re a student? I wanted to point out a few things that you can purchase, and get a discount on it, just because you’re going to school.
Software: There’s a lot of software out there, and some of it can get quite expensive if you don’t have the money. This is why many companies create a package designed solely for college students. Software such as Microsoft Office for Students is nearly half off. Make sure that you ask your professor if there’s a discount, or check online.
Discount card: Just like a senior citizen, a student can get discounts as well. With services like Student Advantage let you save up to 50% with retailers such as AMC, Foot Locker, Barnes and Noble, and many more. The card has a small processing fee, but the savings can add up if you use it a lot.
Airfare: Yes, as a student, you may need to travel via the great blue skies. If you live hundreds of miles away from home now because of college, you may have to fly home. Instead of paying an outrageous fee with the major airliners, head to a site like STA Travel, or others that specialize in student discounts with airlines.
Cell phone plans: If you have a cell phone, and I’m guessing that you do, did you know that some of the major carriers such as Verizon and Sprint may give you a discount for being a college student? Call up a service agent, and see if you can qualify. This can easily knock anywhere from 10-20% off your bill right away!
