College is a great time in a young adults life to make new friends, throw parties and enjoy life.  It is also very common for college students to throw parties during the New Years.  Although it is a lot of fun to throw parties, it is always important to remember safety and to make smart decisions.  If you or someone you know is attending a party this New Years, always remember to keep a few things in mind.  What are those few important tips to remember?  Continue reading below to find out.

  • Don’t drink if you aren’t over 21 years of age. You don’t want to get caught on the college campus intoxicated.  There will be many consequences and you just may ruin your college career.
  • If you are 21 years old, don’t drink more than your body can handle.
  • Play it safe and have no more than a few drinks.
  • Don’t be too loud.  If the college suspects something fishy going on, they won’t be afraid to check it out.
  • Always bring a friend.  If you are going to a college party where you don’t know a lot of people you should always bring a friend for safety.
  • Keep your phone on you.  Always keep a cell phone on you just incase the party isn’t turning out how you expected, you can call for help.
  • Make wise decisions.  Drinking can play a huge effect on your mood.  Don’t do something that you’ll regret when you wake up in the morning.
  • If you are going to “do it” always, ALWAYS use protection.  When drinking, we aren’t fully there and mistakes WILL happen.
