Carpool -  Carpooling is a good idea for everything but a GREAT idea for when it comes to college.  Not only are you allowing for two people or more to save their money but you’re also helping the environment.  Carpool to college with your friends, save money and put less wear and tear on your car!

Buy, Save, Sell – ALWAYS check out websites like www.amazon.com if you’re looking for textbooks.  There have been times where people in my classes have bought the same book as me at the college bookstore for easily $30 more than me.  Times that by 3 classes and that’s almost a $100 spent for nothing.  Amazon allows you to buy cheap books, save money and to sell them for almost what you bought them for!

Commute – The biggest way you can save money in college is by going to a community college for the first two years.  This is the smartest thing a college student can do for many reasons.  You get the same education, credits and accomplish the same things you’d do at a university for half the price!

Student loans – Are you trying to pay for classes right when they come, and it’s making you extremely tight on money?  If so, check out student loans!  College students are supposed to that much money saved up, it’s almost impossible since we’re so young and we’re working minimum wage jobs.  Some student loans don’t require you to pay money until AFTER you graduate.  This is great because it allows you to save up money in the mean time, and allows you to make that good money you’ve been going to school for.

Pay as you go – A bill that almost every college student has is a cell phone bill.  We like these because just in case something ever happens we have an emergency plan to call someone.  Although, many college students don’t even use their cell phones and they’re paying around $40+ per month!  If you haven’t heard of a pay as you go phone, you should check them out.  If you only would use a couple minutes per week I recommend them.  Although, if you talk non-stop and are always on the phone stick with your regular plan.

Pay as you go is perfect for college students that don’t talk on the phone and only use it for emergencies.
