Picking out the schedule in collegeCollege can be stressful, and it’s more than just partying and going to class.  You’re going to find that you’re going to have to set aside times for reading notes, studying for your upcoming class, eating, going to class, and so much more.  When it comes to scheduling your classes, I usually stick to a game plan that allows me a lot of time in between classes.

Stick to a maximum of 4 classes:  If you’re going to schedule classes for the upcoming semester, try and stick a maximum of four classes.  If you take any more than this, you’re going to find that your life is going to be extremely stressful.  Yes, it would be great to graduate early, but on the other hand, you want to pass every class.

Have a minimum one hour window:  When I talk about a window, I’m talking about the time frame in between your classes.  I found that when I took one class after another, my brain was overwhelmed.  It’s so much easier to take a class, get out, read over your notes, and then proceed to your next class.  This way, you won’t come home at night, and not know what went on.

You need time for outside of class:  Remember, college isn’t all about the classroom, especially if you’re staying on the campus.  You have to remember that you’re going to need to eat, sleep, and study.  The more time you have for this, the better it is for you.  This means that you shouldn’t schedule a 9-3 schedule, because when are you going to be able to eat?  Eating is going to keep your brain fresh, and give you that energy that you need to get throughout the day.

Set a study hour:  Without studying, you’re not going to pass your classes, it’s that simple.  You’ll want to set aside at least one or two hours a day to sit back, and study.  You’ll want to choose a place that’s preferably quite such as a library or bookstore.  Even better, if you have a park around, head out there and study.

Scheduling can be tough, but as long as you stick to a plan, and work things out, college should be easier for you.  For those that don’t have a plan, they tend to get stressed out, and we all know where this leads us.  Create a schedule on paper each semester, stick to it, and great grades shall come.
