If you’re a college student, you know that the lifestyle of a college student isn’t cheap.  There are many things that get in the way, and leave is with little money to spend, and save.  If you’re a college student that is looking for ways to save money on the things you must have like groceries perhaps, there are several ways to do so.  Continue reading below to find out how you can easily cut your grocery bill in half!

Coupons – Something that is highly underestimated, even in a bad economy is coupons.  If you look in the newspaper each week, you will find a coupon that is good for just about everything!  Do your searching, spend less, and do all this just by using a coupon.  When using coupons, you’re guaranteed to save half on your grocery bill.  Find a good grocery store that will double all your coupons.

Carts – You may never of though about it, but the cart that you use can make a huge difference in your grocery bill.  If you can, use the smaller carts instead of the larger ones.  The smaller carts allow you a limited amount of space, and make it so that you only put what you really need in the cart.

Sales -Something that many people don’t pay attention to that they should is sale items.  Don’t by anything that isn’t on sale!  If you wait, it will go on sale in just a few weeks.  Buying things on sale is also another great way to save half on your grocery bill.  If you’re stubborn and don’t like to buy things that aren’t a certain brand, just try what’s on sale, you’d be surprised, they all taste the same!

Money – Since we’re college students, and we’re limited to what we can buy due to a supply of money, only bring in cash, and a certain amount.  Avoid using and bringing in a credit card to the grocery store.  If you only bring in cash you’re only allowed to spend that certain amount.

Quantities – You should really start to think about shopping for certain quantities.  If the store has what you want, and you know it won’t be on sale next week, buy a lot of that item.  This will save you money by avoiding to have to pay for it the next couple weeks not on sale until it goes on sale.
