Saving Money on College Expenses
posted by FindCollegeCards.comCollege isn’t something we always look forward to, especially after a nice summer vacation. Not to mention, college is very expensive. Between the cost of books, tuition, and supplies, we’re easily spending thousands. College definitely isn’t cheap, but there are ways to save money, and spend less. If you’re looking to keep a couple extra bucks in your pocket this semester, consider a few of these tips!
Community college – You should always consider a community college for a few semesters, if not for your first two years! They will save you thousands of dollars, and will still give you the same amount of credits to put towards your university! If you’re tight on money this fall semester, don’t be afraid to got to a community college this time around.
Amazon – Amazon is a great website that can also save you a lot of money on all your school supplies. Not to mention, it is one of the best places to find the cheapest books! So, if you’ve never been there before, or you’re looking for something in particular, Amazon is the way to go!
Car pool – Who knows if gas prices will reach that awful $4 per gallon, if they do, definitely consider car pooling with your friends. Not only is this going to save you a lot of money, but it is also better for the environment!
Share – If you have a couple classes with your friends, try to share books this semester! Get together, do your homework together, and find a new study buddy! This is a great way to soak up the information you need to know, while it can save you money at the same time!
Pick up hours - If you’re really strapped for cash this semester, try to save up money, avoid going out, and even picking up a few more hours a week. A few more hours a week, even 5 will give you bigger paychecks! Watch it add up, and see how much more money you have to spend and save.
Setting money aside in college definitely isn’t easy. We have so much to pay for already, and the price of college just adds to the money being spent. College may not be free, but if you look for little ways to save more money, it will add up to a whole lot in the end!
