When in college, we want to make sure we get the best grades we can.  College definitely isn’t cheap, so we need to make sure we pass our classes the first time around.  There are a lot of papers that need to be handed in, and not everyone is a fan of writing papers especially if you have more than one to do at a time.  Sometimes since college students are so busy with what’s going on in their everyday lives they will think about plagiarizing just so they can get a good grade, and get it done with as soon as possible.  Although, many college students don’t realize how severe it is to plagiarize in college.

If you’re a college freshman, or if you’ve just never heard about how bad it is to plagiarize in college, continue to read below to see what may happen to you if you do it!

Kicked out – It all depends on your college, but if you plagiarize you may even get kicked out of the entire college, if not the class.  Colleges take plagiarizing very seriously, and won’t except it from anyone.

Fail – Once again, this will depend on your college and professor but you’ll either get an automatic F on the assignment, or you’ll fail the class entirely, and won’t be allow to come back until the next semester.

Suspended – A lot of college students get suspended from the college, and aren’t allowed to step foot on the campus for a certain amount of days.  Getting suspended is an awful thing because you may miss out on a lot of things like tests, lectures, etc.

Label – Also, when you plagiarize, you will receive the “label” from your professor.  This means when you sign up for any other class, they will usually pass on that you’ve been known to plagiarize.  Therefore, your next professors may be harder on you, and double check for any plagiarizing.

It is never a good thing to plagiarize, we’ve learned this since elementary school, but to plagiarize in college is even worse.  Colleges expect you to be professional, and ready to work hard for your future degree.   So, if you’re thinking about plagiarizing, think twice!
