Minority Scholarships: Finding Them
posted by FindCollegeCards.comScholarships are available to everyone out there. The hard part is finding out where you can get one. When looking for a minority scholarship, or any scholarship for that matter, you’re going to have to treat it like a job, so that you can find the right scholarship for you. Since there are so many options out there, I wanted to walk you through the process on how you can find one that suits you.
Try services like FastWeb - FastWeb is an awesome service that allows you to search over 3.4 billion dollars worth of scholarships. They make it easier for you, so that you don’t have to search through book, after book. As I mentioned earlier, you’re going to want to treat this like a job, because if you don’t, you’ll find you won’t be able to get anywhere.
Use research books to your advantage - If you walk into your local bookstore, of you even check online, you’ll be able to find loads to books that will lead you on the right path, especially if you’re looking for particular scholarships that relate to minorities. Check out this Amazon page filled with thousands of books related to this issue.
Meet with your college adviser – Research can take a long time, and I can understand if you don’t know where to turn, and that’s okay. Instead of being clueless on where to start, try meeting with a college adviser, or if you haven’t started college yet, I would check with your high school adviser to see what he/she may say. You’ll find that some of these schools have connections with companies and programs that you may not know about.
These three tips should help you out tremendously when it comes to finding scholarships. There are so many out there, and as long as you put forth effort, and try your best, good things shall come!
