This is part 3 of 6 on the dorm room essentials
Sadly, you’re going to have to do laundry in college. No longer can you rely on Mom, and Dad. Now that you’ve become an adult, and you’re ready to live on your own, it’s absolutely essential that you bring even item necessary, when it comes down to doing your laundry.
What you’re going to find out is that there are going to be a lot of things that you’re going to miss out on. Rather than purchase them up at college, it’s a lot easier to be prepared ahead of time.
Here’s a list of items that I would recommend that you bring up to college.
- Bleach
- Fabric softener
- Laundry Detergent – There’s a lot of these, and you don’t have to spend $25 to get a good bottle, the name brand will do just as good. I would recommend buying bulk
- Laundry bag - You don’t want to just carry your laundry in your hands. Get a bag for both your clean, and dirty clothes. It would be ideal to label each one.
- Iron / Ironing Board – Get one that’s fairly small, so that you can fit it in your room.
- Stain remover – Grab a smaller pen that can take out the smaller stains. Trust me, there will be times when you have to remove smaller stains off your clothing.
Laundry really isn’t that hard. You’re going to have to do the whites with the whites, and make sure the colors go with the colors. As long as you don’t mix the two, you’re not going to run into much trouble. Be sure to have the essentials up above, and you will be good to go!
