If you’re a college student or even a potential student, did you know that you can join other alumni on Facebook?  The process is actually quite simple and it’s a great way to network with people from your current univeristy.  The networking process is great for those looking to find a study partner or even a friend to hang out with after class. 

If you’re unsure of how to join a college network, here are the steps you need to take in order to join one –

First Step – The first step you’re going to want to take is join Facebook.  If you haven’t done so already, simply go to Facebook’s homepage at http://www.facebook.com.  It’s probably best you sign up with your .edu e-mail address.  Once you graduate, you can always change this later.

Second Step – Once you sign up for facebook, you’re going to want to log and make sure that you’re registered with your school.  If you use your .edu e-mail address, you can simply find your college and authenticate it.

Third Step – The next step you’re going to want to take is you’re going to want to click on your “my accounts” link.  Once you click this, you’ll be able to see a tab that says “Network”.  If you’re new, you’re going to see no networks but if you’ve had an account for a while, you’ll see the networks you belong to.

Fourth Step – You’re now going to want to fill in your college network form.  In order to get approved by the college, you’re going to use your college e-mail address to prove that you go to this college.

Fifth Step - Once you fill out the form, you’re going to get an e-mail from Facebook confirming that you want to authenticate your addresss.  Follow that link and you’ll be in the network.
