The new college school year is approaching us fast and most of you have already applied or maybe you’re thinking about applying in the future. If you’re considering applying for an Ivy League College, you’re going to soon find out that it’s one of the hardest colleges to get into. Did you know that Ivy League Colleges reject over 90% of their applicants? It sounds like a harsh number but it is true.
Now, the question today is, “How the heck do I get into one of these schools?” There really isn’t a specific answer but there are things that you can do in order to increase your odds. Now, there are things that you can’t change like your grades and extra curricular activities in college. This is why I always recommend that you join clubs and groups!
Let’s take a closer look at how you can get into that Ivy League school of your choice:
Writing is important: Writing is going to be the most important part of your admission and you can’t screw up on this one. Whether you want to be a lawyer, doctor, business admin, etc., it’s important to know how to write an effective essay. As you can tell by most of my writing on this blog, I’m not the best candidate and most likely, I wouldn’t get into an Ivy Leaguer.
Use a service: Services may sound silly but I would highly recommend you get a service out there that will look over your essay and help you edit them. These services don’t write your essays, but instead they will help you edit and offer advice on what you should add and get rid of.
Interviewing skills: The essay is just the beginning when it comes down to getting in. If the college likes your essay, that’s a good thing but you’re not done yet. After the essay process is done, you’ll soon find out that you’re headed toward an interview. Just like a job interview, you’ll want to know how to act, how to answer the questions the right way, and so much more.
I could write on and on in this blog post on getting into an Ivy League school but I truly believe that you should check out the following resources when it comes to getting into a college. These guides were written by people who went schools like Harvard. Check out the links below and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
