We’ve all heard, “college isn’t for everyone.” We’ve heard that because, it’s true. College is definitely for some people, yet others don’t need it to become successful. There are many successful people in this world that never step foot in a college. Although, there are some people that needed college to get where they are today.
If you’ve just graduated high school, and you’re asking yourself “is college for me?” that is a great question to ask yourself. A lot of people are undecided about it, and need some time to think about what would be best for them.
So, should I go to college? Ask yourself some of these questions before you make some final decisions.
- Can I get a good job without a college degree?
- Do I have a lot of skills that can be used towards a job in the future?
- Do I want to start my own business, and work for myself, and not the man?
- Do I have an actual plan for the future if I don’t go to college?
- Will this good job that doesn’t need a college degree be around as long as I need it to be?
- Do I have dreams of being a teacher, doctor, accountant, vet, etc and need a college degree to get that job?
- Will I be able to afford working at this job that doesn’t require a college degree?
- Can I turn my hobbies into money, and make that my job? Is it practical?
There is a lot to think about when it comes to going to college vs. finding a job without a degree. You don’t need a college degree to find a good job, yet jobs are scare in a bad economy, so maybe you will need a college degree.
College isn’t for everyone, but it has helped millions of people land great jobs. If you have a dream of getting a career, go for it, and don’t let anything get in the way. Do what will make you happy, what will get you by financially, and do what you won’t regret.
