Improve your Study Habits and Remember Better
posted by FindCollegeCards.comStudying is a vital part of your college career. Without studying, I highly doubt you’re going to be able to pass your classes, unless you have some extreme memory power. There are a lot of great books, and techniques out there that you can use in order to increase your memory. The more you practice these, the better off you will be with your tests.
Read improving memory books: If you don’t mind reading, I would recommend that you pick up an improving memory book. You’ll be able to get a lot more out of these books, rather than in this tiny little blog post. A few of my favorites that I have read include The Memory Book, and Your Memory: How it works.
Inspire yourself to do better: Instead of waiting until the last minute to study, like many of us do, start at least 4-6 weeks ahead of time. You’ll want to cram so much that you’ll know everything off the back of your hand. In order to start early, you’ll want to motivate yourself. How can you motivate yourself? Tell yourself that this is for your career, or for your family, or for money. You should get the clue here. If you’re motivated, you’ll want to study hard.
Reward yourself: Think of some sort of gift that you would like if you do good on your test. If you’ve been waiting that new video game, or pair of shoes, tell yourself that you’ll give yourself those rewards when you do good on your next test.
Think positive: If you’re going to be down on yourself when it comes to studying, you won’t want to study hard. Rather than thinking negative, think positive to make things better around you. This goes with anything in life. If you’re positive with things, good things shall come.
