Doing good in college is a very important thing.  With the high tuition prices it is foolish to not care about your grades.  No one wants to spend time re-taking classes and spend the wasted money.  If you want to succeed in college you will have to put a lot of work into your classes.  Want to know how you can do your best as a college student?  Find out how you can succeed highly in college as a student below.

Be there – Whenever there is a class, be there!  For how much you spend on your classes it is foolish to not go to them.  You never know when your professor will have a pop quiz,  or give you an opportunity for extra credit.  It is very important to be in class for all the important information that is being given out.

Make a friend – You always want to make sure that you make a good, reliable friend in your class.  A friend can tell you what you miss if you’re sick, can get you extra copies of the handouts and tell you the summary of the class.  Also they are a good partner for when it comes to studying!

Read the book – If you really, really want to do well read the book.  If you’re discussing a chapter in class go home and do more work.  Read the entire chapter instead of the bits and pieces that they assign.  When professors give tests they often give a chance for extra credit.  The only problem is no one will no it unless they’ve gone above and beyond and did more reading about the chapter.  Once again, college books are expensive and you want to make sure you get the most out of your money.

Take good notes – When the professor is up their lecturing make sure you take good notes.  They have a limited amount of time to cover as much information as they can.  Due to little time they will talk about what is most important and explain it as best as they can.  If you’re taking notes be sure you get as much information out of their lectures as you can.

Study – You can’t stress the word enough, study. This is the only way you can absorb information and really succeed in the class.  Study the lecture notes, study the book, old quizzes and tests for the exam, and any little piece of information, study it.

Make the best of it – When you have a new professor always be kind, nice and show your respect.  When they have good students they are often more helpful.  If you need to talk to them about a certain issue, they will often be more generous if they know you are a kind, and hard working student.  If they think you’re someone who doesn’t care about school, they may not take the time to talk.  If they like you, they will try and be as helpful as possible.

As you can see there are many requirements for success.  If you follow the tips above you will succeed more than you’ve ever thought.  College can be extremely tough.  Hang in there, have a good attitude about it and think what it will do for your future.
