You should first try the library to see if your textbook is there. Even if you have to keep the book longer after renewing it, the late fee is still cheaper than renting the book. I am a nursing student and I completely agree on the outrageous prices of college textbooks! I tried buying older editions of some of my textbooks to save money, but have found that it is mostly out of date and NOT what my teachers are testing on… I started using Bookswim.com to rent my nursing books, and I love it. I saved over $250 last semester, and I intend on using it next year as well. I would like to add this website to your list as well as pass along the word of where to rent textbooks.

Great article, I totally agree with you on sharing, I think once your in college, your classmates are your extended family. I’ve always used helpineedbooks.com and it has saved me alot so I’ll add your list.
