Leisure – If you’re looking for ways to start saving money fast, take a look at what you do for leisure. Eliminate the things you pay for to have fun. Instead, look for alternatives for having fun. Instead of going to the movies every week or buying the latest video game, consider playing your old video games, renting a movie, or just going outside for a walk up town with friends.
Gas – Gas is an expensive bill for most college students. From driving back and forth to school, to our jobs and everywhere in between, we can easily spend a load of money easily. Try to carpool as much as possible, and try running all your errands in one day to avoid going out every day and burning more gas.
Food – Food is another thing that eats up the majority of our money. If you can eliminate going out to dinner so frequently, eating fast, picking up a coffee every morning, and get your grocery bill down, you can easily save a couple hundred dollars each month!
Bills - Look at your bills and figure out what you spend the majority of your money on. If you can, eliminate unnecessary bills and reduce the ones that really break you.
Change – Do you have any spare change around the house or saved up? If so, cash it in and turn it into crisp dollar bills. Change is often overlooked and is underestimated for the right amount of money.
Job – Are you currently working right now? If not, get a part-time job. If you are, try working either more hours or picking up another job just until you’re done saving up your money.
Saving up money is a lot easier than you make think. Just a few adjustments in your daily schedule can easily save you hundreds each month. Think of how nice spring break would be, and that should be enough motivation for you!
