677931_xmas_tree_4When the holidays come up, we are excited to spend the time with our family and friends, but once we think about our budget for Christmas shopping, our excitement has slowly gone down.  Having money in college is hard to do, especially if we go away to college and there aren’t many jobs to work.  Although, if you’re looking to save up some quick money for the Christmas shopping you’ll be doing, consider a few of these tips!

How to Save Money for Christmas Shopping:

Stay in – Just staying in for a few nights and not going out with your friends is a great way to save money.  There will be no gas money spent, no money spent on food, entertainment, etc.  These few bucks can add up to someones gift price.

Cost free hobbies – Having cost free hobbies is important if you’re looking to save money.  Stay home and play video games with friends, play your favorite sports, and just be a kid again.  Kids don’t have money yet still keep entertained, how can you?

Settle for less – You will need to settle for less or settle for nothing if you’re looking to save money.  Don’t think about the things you want right now (you’ll get them for Christmas presents), so instead think of others and what they would want for Christmas.

Small adjustments – The small adjustments will also help you.  Simple things like not buying as many groceries, eating the food that’s been sitting in the cabinets, and not driving so much can help you save up for Christmas shopping money as well.

Saving money for Christmas shopping isn’t hard to do.  Just make sure you ask yourself twice if you really need what you’re about to buy.  Consider a few of the tips above, and see yourself saving just enough money to start your Christmas shopping!
