It happens to all of us, we have this one class (or a few) where we just cannot pay attention.  We easily get distracted, don’t absorb any information, and when we’re leaving, it’s like we didn’t even attend class that day.  Although we may not have the longest attention spans, there are ways to improve them.  If you’re tired of getting distracted in class, and you’re eager to learn, continue reading below to find out how you can put your distractions behind you.

Sleep -First of all, the best way we can focus on things is by getting enough sleep.  If you get enough sleep each night, you will be able to focus much better, and you will feel much more energized.

Eat – If you eat a well balanced diet, and you eat before class, you will be able to focus much more.  You will be satisfied when it comes to food, you won’t be hungry, and you will have more energy because you just ate.  So, before class, eat a good meal!

Find interest - When your professor is lecturing, find interest in what they’re saying.  Train your brain to want to learn.  Try to have the goal of going home, knowing what the professor talked about, and a few new things you’ve learned.

Distractions – Get rid of all distractions!  This means turn off your cell phone, don’t text during class, and don’t go on your laptop to go on Facebook, but to instead write down lecture notes.  Get rid of anything that is distracting you, and focus on what your professor is saying.

Although everyone tends to get distracted during certain things, we want to try not to get distracted during class.  We pay way too much money for college, and we want to make sure we get the best of it!  So, if you’re looking for ways to improve your attention span, consider a few of these tips!
