We all have a certain subject that no matter how hard we try, we tend to do bad in it.  Those subjects are usually Math or English.  We all know that college isn’t easy, and when you throw in a subject that you’re not good in, it only makes it harder.  If you’re struggling in your English class, and you’re not getting the grades you wish you were, there are many tips to help you out.  Continue to read below to find out how you can boost up your grade because the end of the semester.

Go to class -  First of all, like any other subject, you want to go to class.  When you miss class, you may be deducted points just for your absence, and also you will miss out on any important information that was discussed.  Instead, go to class, know what you need to do at all times to help your grade, and be there to ask any questions you may have.

Homework – Make sure you do all of your homework.  Even if you think you will get a poor grade, it is better than not doing it at all.  When it gets down to the end of the semester all that will matter is how many points you have, so do every assignment.

Read – It is pretty common that in English class you have a lot of reading to do.  To help you become a better writer, you need to be a good reader.  Read all the texts, and chapters that are required, and see yourself doing better in the class.

Papers – When in English, people have the hardest time with their papers.  Often people struggle with their grammar, and punctuation.  Do the best you can, print out your paper, edit, and go over it a couple times to make sure there aren’t too many errors, and no stupid mistakes.

Exams – Exams in English are tough because they are either written papers, or they are an actual exam over everything you’ve learned.  Do the best you can, study weeks ahead of time, and if there is a paper that is required have it done a week or two before it is due.  When you have it done ahead of time you will be able to ask your teacher if it is what they are expecting, and you can also ask for any tips that may have for you.

English is a tough subject, but once you learn the basics you’ll be good for life.  Practice your speaking, reading, and writing skills as much as possible, don’t give up, and ask as many questions as you need to so that it comes easier to you.  Also, consider these tips listed above for guidance along the way.
