How to Impress Your College Professor
posted by FindCollegeCards.comSometimes we’re not all that lucky and get stuck with a tough professor. We can tell from the minute we walk in, sit down, and they begin speaking on the first day. When we have a tough college professor, the semester instantly gets tougher, and they expect a lot more out of you. So, if you’re looking to make a good impression right from the beginning, you can do so in these few ways!
How to Impress Your College Professor:
Mature - Professors like good, and mature students. They aren’t too fond of the ones that still act like they’re in high school and cause a lot of drama in the classroom. Have a mature personality, and show them you are an adult instead of a teenager.
Listen – There is nothing more annoying to a professor than when his or her students are talking when they are talking. If you want to get on their good side, you definitely don’t want to be a victim of that. Behave, and listen carefully to what they say. They also hate when you ask a question right after they just answered it.
Work in time – Since you’re in college, you can’t expect to hand in your papers or work late anymore. Hand your work in on time, and show them that you are disciplined. A lot of students don’t do this, so if you can, you’re ahead of them already
Questions – Ask questions when you have a question. Showing them that you’re paying attention, and are concerned about learning the material they’re going over lets them know you’re actually listening and care.
Care - Show them that you care, ask for tips for upcoming tests and exams, and occasionally ask them how you’re doing in the class. When they know you care, they will care more about your grade and getting you to pass.
Impressing your college professor may be something you have to do if you have a tough one for the semester. Sometimes we get lucky to have really nice professors, and other times we don’t get so lucky. So, if you’re looking to help get on their good side, consider a few of these tips!
