When in college it is very important to still be active.  Often college students get so caught up in homework and their job that they leave very little time to exercise.  College students carry a lot of stress on their shoulders which is bad for their health.  To get rid of stress, exercise is needed daily.  When we exercise on a daily basis we not only become healthier, but our attitudes toward things get much more positive.  Are you one of the busy college students with not a lot of physical activity going on?  If so, there are many fun ways to become more active as a college student.  Need some ideas?  Read below and find out how you can start becoming more active!

Get a gym membership – Gym memberships are great for when it comes to getting exercise.  A lot of gyms have every work out equipment piece you can think of.  A lot of gyms have pools for swimming, treadmills, and weights to lift for strength.  If you really want to take your health seriously and get in the best tip top shape I highly recommend getting a gym membership.  Also try to get a membership with one of your close friends or relatives.  You will find that if you have a buddy to work out with it will be more motivation and you will go more often.

Create a sports team – Have a tight budget as a college student?  That is very understandable when you think about all the tuition and book costs alone.  If you don’t want to spend all that money at the gym create a sports team.  Get some family members or friends together and play your favorite sport.  This is a great way to get out of the house, put the books down, and have a great time!  It is important that you allow yourself some fun when in college.  College students are often so couped up inside that they don’t get out much due to all the studying they need to do.  Creating a sports team is a great way to get exercise into your day.

Set higher goals – Have you ever had a dream of running a marathon, playing on a sports team or joining aerobics?  If so, do it!  What’s stopping you?  There isn’t a better feeling than reaching your goals.  When you set higher goals you have more motivation to try harder to succeed.  Whatever you’ve wanted to do in life give it a shot!  Not only will you be getting a great work out but you’ll be happy that you’ve at least made that effort.

Go for walks – Do you live in a nice neighborhood?  If so, take advantage of it!  Go for a walk a couple times a week.  This is a great way to escape from the college life, enjoy the scenery, and get some fresh air.  Also if you have a dog this is a perfect opportunity to get some exercise and bond with your pet.

As stated above, it is very important that you get exercise as a college student.  When we get exercise on a regular basis we are a lot happier and feel much better about ourselves.  We don’t want our stress to build up but for it to deminish.  How can we do that?  Simply exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.  Take the time to set down the books and get some fresh air!
