As a college student, you’re going to find that you can get a lot of discounts on just about anything.  Yes, just like a Senior Citizen, you can get discounts on food, clothing, and yes, even airline tickets!  If you don’t know how to find airline tickets at a discounted price, I wanted to give you some pointers on how you can find those tickets at a discounted rate.

Before you start your search, you’re going to find that the airlines are going to want some sort of proof to prove that you’re a student.  Whether it’s a report card, student ID, or any other form of identity.  As long as you can prove it, you should be okay.

#1 Use services such as STA Travel

A website like this is designed solely for college students.  The cool thing about this website is that you’re able to search for a flight and the discounts are going to be provided to you right then and there.  As long as you can prove your student identity, you can get round trips overseas for as little as $400!  You can’t beat that anywhere.

#2 Call up the airlines

If you’re loyal to a particular airline, you can always call them up direct and ask them if they are offering any deals for college students.  While you can’t find this information solely online, you may find that you can get a better chance when you call up and ask.  It never hurts, because the worst thing that they will say is  no!

#3 Try StudentUniverse.com

If you haven’t had luck with the first site, STA Travel, give StudentUniverse a shot as well.   From what I’ve read online, there have been a lot of college students that have had some success with this service.  Again, it’s a great way to save when you’re going to school.

You’re going to find that the airline discount search engines are limited, but if you try the popular ones mentioned above, you should be able to find a discount as a student.
