Volunteering as we all know is a great thing to do.  Not only are we helping out our community and/or environment, but we’re also helping what is in need of help.  Volunteering is beneficial to everyone, but extremely beneficial to college students.  College students can earn more respect from people, and their future employers.  Putting down a volunteering program that you did on  your resume is a great way to start your job interview in the future.  If you’re looking to find a volunteering program, but not sure where to look, continue reading below for some help!

Newspaper – It is a good idea to check out your weekly newspaper.  You can look in the classifieds part, and you may find listings for the places that need help in your area.

Internet – The Internet is helpful for everything.  If you search volunteering programs for around your area you will have several different ones coming up.  This is a great way to find one because it will bring up everything for your area, and give you many options.

Health care  - Go into your closest hospital or nursing home, and ask the people in the office if they could use your help.  You could be great company to those in both!

School – Ask your school’s office staff if they know of any programs going on at the moment.  They may find you a school you could volunteer at.

Humane Society – If you’re an animal lover, the Humane Society is always looking for volunteers!  Go to your local Humane Society, and ask if you can help them in any way, and let them know you want to volunteer.  They will be more than happy to get you started.
