Many times after a student enters college they find themselves broke even if they have grants and scholarships that help pay their expenses. The money is all tied up with the college and only available for the necessary needs of attending school. Funds provided by grants and scholarship are not money that anyone can put in their pocket and get a pizza or anything else. What do you do for fun money and those immediate needs?

There are jobs available that a college student can do and still keep up with their studies.  You may not have thought about what you can do since you are usually confined to the campus with all your studies and activities but let us make a few suggestions.

• Professors often need someone to take care of their children at different times of the day or evening when they have commitments. Baby setting is no longer the sole property of a thirteen year old but as a student many times you will find that you can earn extra cash by taking care of the children of the professors. You might find other baby setting jobs off campus as well you just need to advertise your services.

• House sitting is an excellent way to earn extra cash, save on your own room and board expense and still get homework done. You can sit someone’s home while they are on vacation or perhaps a whole semester in some cases earning money for your service and being provided with your much needed needs.

• Many students provide tutoring to students who are having problems with a certain subject and sometimes with younger students outside of college but attend high school. This is a service that pays well and you can schedule the sessions around your own schedule.

• Pet services is another service that many people need and are very glad to pay someone who will walk their pet or help with the pets personal care. You only need to advertise the things that you will do for the pet and soon you can build a client base.

• Many of you like to type and do proof reading this is a service that many students need and are willing to pay you for just make sure that you are not doing their homework.

In order to earn extra funds you only need to go creative and think what it is that you can do best and advertise your services. You can post on the student bulletin board, craigslist, ilist or any free listing service.  This is one of many ways to earn extra income but check your student board often professors and others will advertise that they need someone to complete a job for them and perhaps this will help you too.
