How to Become a Teacher:

Majors – Once you enroll to a college, you will want to take a look at your school’s programs.  What kind of education programs do they have?  Do you want early education, elementary, high school, etc?  Once you know, sign up for the program, and get a syllabus printed out for you.  This will tell you which classes you need to take.

Grades – Keep in mind that you want to keep your grades up.  You don’t need a 4.0 each semester to become a teacher, but try to always stay above a 3.0 GPA.  If you can do this, you will have more discipline, and more success when it comes to finding a job.

Foot in the door – Once you’re at your second or third year in college, get your foot into the door somewhere.  Whether you work as a teacher assistant, supervise, or work with children, this will help your chances of getting hired somewhere.  People like practice, and more experience when it comes to hiring.

Certified – Keep in mind that you need to be certified as a teacher.  This requires a test from your state.  Look into this, see when it must be taken, and what your scores must be to pass.

If you follow these important steps, and get help from a college couselor you’ll be on the right track.  These all must be met, and passed to have the dream job.  Take your time, give it all your effort, do some planning, and see which places will have openings.
