492545_multiple_choiceAh, there is that big exam coming up in just a week or two.  Whether it’s your mid-term or your final, you want to be prepared.  For some students, this could either make or break you this semester.  If you have bad test anxiety, make sure it’s controlled by consider a few of these tips below!

Study – First of all, you should study until you feel like you know the information like the back of your hand.  Study a few weeks beforehand, study when you wake up in the morning, before the exam, do whatever you need to do so that you feel comfortable with the information.

Ask – If you feel overwhelmed and you’re not sure what to study for, simply ask your professor after class.  They can help you focus on the things you really need to study for and memorize.

Sleep – Before the night of the exam, make sure you get enough sleep.  Sleep is important for an everyday thing.  You should get at least 8 hours per day to feel energized, and let your body rest.  If you get a good night sleep, you will allow your body to relax a little bit.

Eat – Make sure you eat a good breakfast before you take your exam.  Have a bowl of cereal, some fruit, and some juice.  A well balanced breakfast will help your brain relax, and function properly.

Water – It is said that if you drink water during a test you will feel more relaxed.  So, sit back, take a deep breath, pause for a minute and have some water.  Taking a break from the test for just a minute might be what you need to calm down.

A lot of students get test anxiety.  Their hands feel sweaty, they check their answers numerous times, and sometimes they will be the last one’s done.  None of this matters.  As long as you’re prepared, calm, do good, and have a good attitude, you will be just fine!
