It is not unusual for college students to start their own business while studying in college. Sometimes the business is a small one meant to help the student pay for their expenses while other times the business grows and the student becomes rich just from creating the business while in college. Certain business opportunities that were created such as making birthday cakes for students and providing gifts that the parents requested are gaining success all across the nation but are run by individuals at each college. This type of business helps a student pay expenses while attending college but unfortunately it does not make a student rich. On the other hand a business created by a student who was only 19 years old while a freshman at Boston’s Northeastern University called Napster made Shawn Fanning very wealthy. A student named Mark Zuckerberg another 19 year old launched Facebook from his dorm at Harvard made him an instant millionaire. Yahoo offered him 900 million for his program which he turned down but later accepted as long as he could remain the CEO. Google was launched by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were still students in the computer program at Stanford. You do not have to be a successful executive heading up your own company in order to create a business making you a rich entrepreneur.

Zuckerberg is one of the world’s 10 youngest billionaires named by Forbes magazine as one of the world’s youngest self-made billionaires. All you need to do is if you have an idea release it on line, turn it into a business and you may well become the next billionaire. Starting your own business may make you very successful no matter what your age if your idea happens to be good enough to catch on to the general public. Many young people with an idea started out from their basement or garage. The idea behind making your own business does not mean that you have to have lots of money but just a good idea and willing to work very hard. The best effort put forth is what makes a business grow not the amount of investment. Many performers in the music industry started out with just a dream and the ability to play music, act, or do performances in the theatre. Other well known rich entrepreneurs started by making their ideas into inventions that people needed which launched a whole new market.  While you are in college take advantage of the tools available and use your skills to create your own business. You may find that you too are on your way to becoming a rich entrepreneur.
