962982_red_cross_and_red_crescent_21Many college students today are so worried about things like the exam they have next week, whose party is coming up next and going to work.  All of these things to keep in mind becomes pretty overwhelming, especially the homework, studying and test taking part.  College students are often so worried about these things that they let their health suffer.  Yes, college students are very busy people but maintaining good health isn’t very time consuming.  There are several little tips that college students should always keep in mind if they want to see themselves maintain good health.  What are those tips?  Continue reading below to find out!

  • As always eat a well balanced diet.  This means get enough vitamins, minerals, protein and so on.  These are all very important when it comes to maintaining good health.
  • Be sure to always get exercise on a daily basis.  Getting enough exercise is very important and at least 30 minutes are required each day.
  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.  Getting enough sleep reduces your chances of getting sick, improves your ability to do better in school and leaves you feeling rejuvenated. 
  • Get yearly checkups at the doctors.  It is always important to stay updated on your shots, get your blood pressure checked, your weight checked and to make sure your overall health is good.
  • Also make sure you keep in touch with your friends and family.  It is very important to make sure you still have fun in college.  Having fun is another thing that reduces stress and allows you to feel better about yourself and improves health due to happiness.
  • Quit smoking if you are currently a smoker.  Why are you smoking?  What is the point of smoking?  Smoking as we all know is a huge killer over time.  You are guaranteed bad health, will only see health problems and remember you’re taking years off your life, sounds fun doesn’t it?  NOT, so stop immediately.
  • Stop drinking excessively.  We all know that college students love to party.  Yes, it is okay on a rare occasion but this every night, drinking until you throw up is not healthy AT ALL.  You’re killing your liver, killing brain cells and defeating the purpose of going to college by getting less intelligent.
  • Take time to relax.  Always make sure you take time to relax.  This means get into a stress free environment, sit alone, clear your head of any bad thoughts or stress and just relax.  It is important that college students get rid of stress.  So much stress builds up over time and if you don’t relieve it, it will drive you crazy.  So take some time to relax and be alone.
