A lot of college students go away to college for the fall and winter, and come back to enjoy the nice weather, and earn that extra cash in the summer.  If you’re currently in this position, and you’re having a hard time finding a summer job, you’re not alone.  This economy has been pretty rough, and it just seems like its getting worse.  Although despite a bad economy, there are always great seasonal jobs, and jobs that are available and always hiring.

Where can you find these great, well summer jobs?  Maybe consider the ones listed below, if you haven’t already.

Restaurants – There are always restaurants open, and everyone loves to go out to eat.  So, try applying at a restaurant.  Whether you apply at a small up town cafe, a fast food chain, or you become a waitress/waiter, there is money to be made.

Landscaping – When summer hits that means planting flowers, trees, cutting the grass, and doing outside work.  If you love to be outdoors and play in the dirt, check out what landscaping/gardening places are hiring.

Babysitting – When the weather is nice people like to be outdoors, and out late.  Which can sometimes mean parents leave there young ones at home.  Do you have what it takes to be a babysitter?  If so, put an ad in the paper, send out flyers and spread the word to those with children.

Gardening stores – Going to places like green houses, farms, stores with plants and flowers, etc are great places to apply right now.  Everyone is out and about and is looking for great things to decorate their yard with.  So, stop by, see who’s hiring and check the newspaper weekly for updates.

Ice cream shop – When it’s hot, what is better than a nice ice sundae or cone?  People love ice cream, and the business definitely picks up.  That means more jobs for ice cream shops opening up.  Get there first, and beat the rest of the college students!
