It is very common that when we’re attending school whether it be middle school, high school, or college that we’ll have a bad teacher or professor.  It always seems like we can’t go through one year without getting at least one.  In college, we still face that situation which can make college courses very difficult.  College is already hard enough because it is so fast paced, but when you throw in a bad professor on top of it, college only gets harder!

Do you have a bad college professor this year or course?  If so, there are certain things you can do to still get a good grade in the class.  If you’re struggling already in the class, consider some of these tips below for some extra help!

Organize – The first thing that we’re going to want to do is organize ourself in the class.  Make sure we have all our papers nicely organized, our schedules planned out well and we know what is going on in the class.

Ask questions – If you’re really struggling, don’t be afraid to ask your professor questions.  Make sure you understand their lectures, know what the assignments are and when all your papers/assignments are due.

Talk with your professor – If things are really bad, your grades are slipping and your professor is really unhelpful talk to them after class.  Tell them the situation your going through and hopefully they will do everything they can to get you back on the right track and understanding what’s going on.

Study – Really study for courses, if you’re in a tough class don’t just blame the professor.  Sometimes we have to go above and beyond to succeed.  If this is the case, bring out your books, do extra work and really study!

Report them – If the situation doesn’t get better by the time you considered all of these tips above, try reporting them.  If the professor is unorganized, isn’t willing to help and you think your grade is falling because of them, let the dean know!

You’re a paying customer when you pay for your classes.  Colleges want to have a good reputation and they want you to tell everyone you know how great it is so they go there.  If they get all bad reviews, the college won’t do well and therefore everyone’s grades may suffer as well.  Do all you can to make sure you get the grades you deserve and the education, even if it does mean reporting your professor!
