College is usually a pretty stressful time in a young adults life.  If you didn’t know already, exercise is one of the best ways to fight against stress and helps maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The problem with exercising as a college student is, people say who has the time?  Between working a job and going to college full time, where do people find the time for it?  Yes, college may take up a lot of time but there is always time to get in exercise.  Need some ideas for getting in exercise during college?  Continue to read below for some tips!

Make a schedule - Just like you make a schedule for school and work, make a schedule for working out.  Whether you dedicate 7:00 a.m. everday to exercising or Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays for an hour.  Whatever your plan, you’re one step ahead on the game.  This is the most important part so choose something that works for you!

Hanging out with friends – Instead of your usual video game nights, shopping nights or movie time get you and your friends to have fun by playing your favorite sports!  If you have time to hang out with your friends, you also have time to get in some exercise and have even more fun.  Create a sports team and play together a couple times a week.

Take the long way – A great way to get in some walking is by parking your car farther away.  Whether you park farther away from the grocery store, or your campus classes, that is a great way to get in some extra steps.  Do this on a regular basis and think of all the miles you’ll rack up.  This is a great thing to do if you don’t have enough time to go a gym on a regular basis.

Take the day off – If you’re currently either working everyday or going to school everyday, take a day off!  Have one day just for yourself.  On this day, don’t do homework or even think about work.  Instead, spend the day at the gym, doing work out videos or playing on a sports team.  It is important that you find time for yourself.

Little exercises – Take about 20 minutes a day to just do little exercises.  These can be push ups, sit ups, stretching, anything you please.  Do them in the morning, in the afternoon or at night.  Anything will help and make you feel better about yourself.

There is always time to work out or get a good exercise in.  If you don’t think you have time, consider these tips above and make the time.  Your health is more important than some part-time job and/or school.  Make sure you make some time to take care of your body.
