Finding Part Time Jobs with Benefits
posted by FindCollegeCards.com
Going to college is already hard enough, but what happens if you’re looking for a part time job with benefits? Yes, I know it can be tough, because a lot of parents don’t support their child during college, making it hard to get health insurance, as well as money to pay off future loans, or live today.
Jobs are always available, and I don’t care what the media says, you can do a search on websites such as SnagAJob, and you will always find that there are tons of jobs around in your area.
Here are a few jobs that you should consider when looking for benefits such as health insurance, as well as 401ks, etc.
Delivery Jobs: Places such as FedEx, and UPS are always hiring, and you will find that they offer great benefits for their part time workers. The hours may be long for a part time job, but you will also find that the turnover rates are very high for this job due to the strenuous work.
Tip Jobs: Anything that deals with tips generally will give you benefits. This is all going to vary depending on the place you’re going work with. Many corporate restaurants will provide such coverage, but if you apply with a Mom and Pop based shop, you may not get the benefits you need.
Janitorial: Many companies, as well freelance based companies need cleaners, and you’ll be surprised at how much you can make by doing part time work. I have found that a lot of janitor based jobs will give you some pretty nice benefits.
Sales: A sales job can honestly turn into a lifelong career. The thing I like about sales based jobs are that the sky is the limit. You can earn as much as you want with a job like this. Yes, it isn’t made for everyone, but you will most likely know if it’s made for you.
These are the jobs that I would look into. You will want to avoid jobs such as cashiering, pizza delivery, telemarketing, and day labor based jobs, because you will soon find out they make you do a lot of work, and the benefits are pretty lousy.
